If Williams was alone on the 6th floor until 12:20 (and it may have been more like 12:25 because he said that he stayed put, expecting to watch the motorcade from the 6th floor, until he heard noises on the 5th floor, which were his friends Jarman and Norman, and so he went down a flight to join them. But, I don't think they got there until 12:25 or later) so when did Oswald set up the Sniper's Nest and assemble the rifle?

Oswald had to assemble the rifle, and since he didn't bring a screwdriver, and none was proffered, it's assumed that he used a coin, such as a dime as a tool. So, he had to retrieve the rifle; he had to build the rifle. Then, he had to check the scope, didn't he? To be sure that it was installed correctly? And what about the decision not to shoot Kennedy as he approached from Houston but rather letting him round the corner and shooting him from behind? Shall we allow any time for that, or should we assume that he decided that in advance?

But, I maintain that the whole feasibility of shooting Kennedy from that window could not be ascertained by Oswald until he saw it, until he saw the shooting field. So, when did he do that? Nobody ever reported seeing him lingering at that window.

The idea that Bonnie Ray Williams could have been alone on the 6th floor until 12:25 or even 12:20 and that Oswald got up there after that and did everything he had to do to be ready to shoot Kennedy at 12:30 is preposterous. Utterly, totally preposterous.

But, what is intriguing is this: What if Williams hadn't left? What if he didn't mind being alone? What if he thought that was a great place to watch the festivities even if he had to be there alone? What would the killers have done? They couldn't run him out of there because then he would later say that he was run out of there- and not by Oswald. It would have completely vindicated Oswald. So, what would they have done if Williams hadn't budged?
