John Conally's doctor said that he believed he was first hit at Zapruder 235.  Conally agreed with him:

Connally told Life Magazine that he believed, as best he could judge it, that the bullet hit him in frame 234, nine frames and one-half second later than the Warren Commission said he had been hit.
“Having looked at frames 233 to 235,” he told Life, “I can begin to see myself slump in 234. The slump is very pronounced in 235. I am hunched. It looks as if my coat is pulled away from my shirt. My mouth is elongated. I don’t think there is any question that my reaction to the shot begins in this time sequence.”

And as I look at the Zapruder film, I also see Connally first reacting at frame 235. So, let's go with that. It's time to take a tally.

So, we had the first shot that missed. We had the second shot which hit Kennedy in the back. We had the third shot that hit Kennedy in the throat. And we had the fourth shot which hit Connally in the back. That's 4 shots- a minimum of 4 shots all before Zapruder255 which coincides with the Altgens photo.

At least 4 shots have sounded, and yet Clint Hill looks like he's perched there on that car like a lump on a log, like he doesn't have the faintest idea of going anywhere. We know he eventually did, but I have to wonder what it looked like. Did it suddenly dawn on him that Kennedy was being shot at? Was it like a V8 moment?

When did Clint Hill snap out of his trance and try to be useful?

He claimed that he reacted after the very first shot, but that is obviously not true.

Not only is Clint Hill not reacting there, he seems to be totally absorbed in Emory Robert's phone call.
