There is an excellent book that you can read online for free called The Fourth Reich. It is a compilation involving multiple authors, and it starts with the financial and investment dealings between US companies and individuals and Nazi Germany. 

I'm sure you've heard about Prescott Bush, the father of George HW Bush, being involved in financing the Nazi regime through his job at the investment firm of Harriman and Brown. But also involved in the very same activity, as an attorney, was Allen Dulles.

When it comes to naming individuals who were involved in planning and executing the operation to kill John F. Kennedy, I doubt there is anyone more prominent and more central to it and more higher up in it than Allen Dulles. 

I suspect that George HW Bush worked directly under Allen Dulles and answered directly to him. 

I also assume that Allen Dulles was the one and only member of the Warren Commission who had direct knowledge of and involvement in the plot to kill Kennedy. In other words, Dulles knew the truth, and he knew it concretely. Dulles knew, all along that the entire case that the Warren Commission was building against Oswald was a fabrication and a lie. He knew that it was just a formality for public consumption, to hide the true facts of the murder, that being that Dulles killed Kennedy. I'll say it again; Dulles killed Kennedy. This was a case in which the actual murderer was prosecuting the man who was being framed. 

And many have said that the Allen Dulles was the real head, the real leader of the Warren Commission, that Earl Warren was mostly just a figurehead.  

This book contains many disturbing but true facts about Allen Dulles, including his involvement in coddling Nazis and smoothing their way into the United States immediately after WW2. Ironic, isn't it, that some Nazis got charged and tried and executed at Nuremberg, while other Nazis got free passes into the United States with great jobs and new comfortable lives awaiting them. Allen Dulles was at the center of Operation Paperclip. 

He was also at the center of violent overthrows, such as the bloody overthrow of President Arbenz in Guatamala for the benefit of United Fruit Company (Operation SUCCESS), and the bloody overthrow of President Mosaddegh in Iran for trying to stand up to British and American oil companies (Operation AJAX).  

Allen Dulles was fired as CIA head by John Kennedy. And when JFK said that he was going to "splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces" he was talking about Allen Dulles' CIA, what Allen Dulles had made it become: a rogue military force that operated outside the law, without oversight, restraints, limits, or accountability. The CIA was and is America's secret guerrilla army which operates outside the law.  

I doubt anyone was higher up in the plot to kill John Kennedy than Allen Dulles.
