I think they went about writing the script for the rifle story all wrong. For the life of me, I don't understand why they didn't say that Oswald got up during the wee hours of the morning to take care of the rifle:  to go out to the garage, to find the rifle, disassemble it, to secure it in the bag, and then put the bag somewhere so that he could leave with it in the morning without Ruth and Marina knowing.

Instead, in the Warren Report, they made it out that Oswald did all that between 8 and 9 PM, at a time that Ruth and Marina were both wide awake.

Think about it: It was Ruth's house, and Lee was a guest. So how could he go out into her garage at 8 PM to find and dismantle a rifle without her knowing, without her realizing that he was gone?

Think about it from your own experience. When you have a guest in your home, you feel responsible for your guest. You're either talking to your guest or feeding your guest or entertaining your guest or something. You never leave your guest alone unless he or she is using the bathroom or has gone to bed for the night. That's it! There are no exceptions.

And besides realizing, "Hey! Lee is gone; Lee isn't with us; Lee has disappeared," wouldn't she have heard him fiddling in the garage?

Here's the house:

Wow, that is a small house. You see the door, and you see the small garage on the left. And you see the large window to the right, which is the living room. So, Ruth and Marina were in the living room at 8 PM watching tv, and Lee was in the garage dismantling the rifle, and they didn't hear him? They weren't aware that he was missing?

I don't see that house being all that sound-proof. My house isn't all that sound-proof. I had a raccoon in the attic once, and it sounded like there was an elephant up there. Imagine if it it was in my garage.

You know that house is run as a museum. "Their house is a museum... when people come to see-um." And I'm going! I am going to Irving, and I am taking the tour.  They let you take photos too. And I will.

So, how did it go down? Was it something like this?

Ruth: Where's Lee? What happened to Lee?
Marina: I don't know. It not like he have rifle stored in garage.
Ruth: Is he in the bathroom all this time? Uh-oh. I hope it wasn't the meatloaf.
Marina: Maybe he texting someone.
Ruth: Texting? What's texting?
Marina: Uh, forget I say that.

Ruth: Maybe he's out snorting coke with Pink O'Blazney
Marina: That always possible. Hey, what wrong with that guy anyway? Why he not have life?
Ruth: It's a long story. But seriously, I'm a bit worried. Lee is missing, and there is a racket going on in the garage. Don't you think I should go out there to check?
Marina: But, this good episode of Leave To Beaver. June gonna say, "Don't you think you been goin' hard on da Beaver?" Hah.
Ruth: How do you know that?
Marina: Is not rerun?
Ruth: What's a rerun?
Marina: Never mind.
