To me, this is pretty straightforward. In the Croft photo, the African American woman who appears in the doorway appears to be on Elm Street but below the obelisk.

So, she was below the obelisk here, but got captured above the obelisk in Altgens? I shot two rolls of Tri-X 400 film in Dealey Plaza, with professional photographers trying to duplicate the Altgens photo, and such a thing never happened in any of the photos we took. I know how parallax works in films, but there is nothing about this situation that create such an effect. And when you think about how little time Altgens had. It was a rough and tumble thing. He was up at Houston Street shooting, then he probably had to literally run to get positioned on lower Elm because the limo was moving. Then he stepped into the street a little to take his shot, but how much time did he have? Not much. Not enough to making any super sophisticated adjustments to the camera. I just don't see how it  could have happened spontaneously, and if anybody thinks it could have, let's see you do it. Let's see you go to Dealey Plaza and duplicate it. That whole lineup of African American spectators below were not in front of the obelisk. They were farther down. So let's see somebody place surrogates there further down and capture an image like this. Of course no one will, but the point is that I don't think that anyone could.
