Yesterday, a 14 year old was arrested for the stabbing death of 18 year old Tessa Majors, which occurred in a park in New York City, where she attended Barnard College. This degree of evil I do not understand. I do not understand how any human being can be monstrous enough to do this. Shall we say that he is mentally ill? Like Joker? But, my fear is that he is not like Joker, but rather, he is like the mob of people who donned Joker masks to exalt Joker, Why would they do that? Why would anyone write that into a movie? But now, I presume you know that no degree of monstrousness can be ruled out, not from movies, and not from real life, that the unspeakable, the unimaginable, the living nightmare can easily happen. It could happen today; tomorrow; or any other day. We go about our lives. We mow the lawn. We fix the sprinkler. We visit the grandkids. It all seems very civilized. But, it's a delusion, isn't it? Lurking under the surface, every day, is what happened to Tessa Majors.
