I've known the truth about Jackie's hand and what it's doing for quite a while. You see, somebody sent me a very clear image of it, better than anything I have been able to find online, and frankly, I don't know where this person got it. This person wants to help me, but this person is also afraid. I've been told not to divulge this person's name, and of course, I won't. But, I'll show you the picture because it shows very clearly exactly what is going on.

So, that's her thumb there, and it goes to the end. You can even see the thumbnail.  Backes traced around the pointy shadow to indicate her thumb, but the whole thing is her thumb. But, put your hand out like that, and try to duplicate the position. Do you notice that your fingers extend a lot farther than your thumb? A great deal farther, right? So, why don't we see her fingers extending far beyond her thumb? It's because her fingers are curled. She's making a little fist there. Her hand is closed.

And once you realize that, you realize that she wasn't waving at all. Who would wave at the crowd with a closed fist? She wasn't Che Guevara.

And another thing you realize is that her hand is grossly too big.

Look how big her hand is compared to JFK's. Compare the size of her thumb to, say, his middle finger. She was a petite woman with small features, and he was a rather large man. Plus, her hand is much farther away from the camera. And don't forget that you know now that her fingers were curled, so you're not even seeing the full length of her hand. But, just look at her massive thumb and compare it to his fingers. It's grossly out of proportion.

So, what is going on here, supposedly, is that Jackie is sitting there straight as an arrow, and she's got her right arm down by her side, and she's got her left forearm raised with her elbow bent, and even though she is looking straight ahead, she's got her left forearm extended out beyond the side of the car with her hand behind the glass of the window, with her fingers curled into a loose fist.

Do you believe she was doing that?

Here is the proper schematic for her hand in the picture. Her hand was curled up in a partial fist. She was not waving.

Of course, the message of the magazine cover was that she was looking straight ahead with her arm directly in front and waving at the crowd, like JFK. But, she wasn't.

It was an optical illusion, and a deliberate one at that. And that's what makes it so bad.
