Just one more thought concerning George W. Bush and his $100,000 windfall for giving a speech to a veterans charity. It really was a windfall, and I'll tell you why.

Think about how long it takes the average worker to accumulate $100,000. Most of what he earns goes to paying expenses: living expenses, including housing, food, clothes, medicine, etc. for himself and any dependents he has. Plus, he has to drive to work, so the cost of that in gas and car expenses gets tacked on. Plus, he has to pay taxes, including income tax, property tax, sales tax, etc. And the result is that most of what he earns gets spent- just to survive. If he can put a little aside, that's great, but it may take him a long time to squirrel away $100,000- even if he makes $100,000 a year.

But, when you get paid $100,000 all at once for one speech, then living expenses are out of the equation. They have no bearing on it. In Bush's case, he even demanded a private plane for transportation which his sponsors (the charity) had to pay for.

So, when you earn $100,000 that fast, it's like money falling out of the sky. The average worker can't save that much in 10 years of hard work. Are you kidding? $100,000 is greater than the average American's entire net worth. Yet, George W. Bush made it in an afternoon.

Yet, it's just a drop in the bucket. U.S. taxpayers had to fork out $1.3 million to George W. Bush in fiscal year 2012 just to keep him going. He's got a posh 8,000 square foot office in Dallas which we have to pay for. Dallas. How ironic. The city where President John F. Kennedy got blown away, the President who gave all his Presidential salary to charity. I bet you he wouldn't have taken a cent to raise money for veterans.

By the way, Bush's dad collected $842,000 from taxpayers that same year (2012), and who knows how many speeches he gave.

Anybody else finding this disgusting?
