I am pleased to announce that My Stretch of Texas Ground is the Award Winner for Best Feature Film at the Cinemafest Film Festival in New York. It was very satisfying to be there to experience the audience reaction to the film. They were engaged. They were engrossed. And they really seemed to enjoy it. After the screening, a man came up to me who is a real-life deputy sheriff in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and he said he really liked Jeff Weber’s portrayal of Sheriff Joe Haladin.

And then, to top off a great weekend, I was informed that My Stretch of Texas Ground has been nominated for 4 awards at the Alternative Film Festival in Toronto. They are: Best Thriller, Best Director (Erich Kemp), Best Writer (Ralph Cinque) and Best Actor (Jeff Weber). This is very satisfying to me because it helps propel the message of the movie, which is that terrorism is monstrous, but war is terrorism on steroids; both have got to stop. And anyone who agrees with that, and you only have to look at the civilian death toll from wars, has every good reason to get behind this movie and recommend it.
