Oswald's alibi
DPD Captain Fritz
started his interview with Oswald at 3:00 pm at the DPD. It was not until 3:15
pm that FBI Bookhout and Hosty joined in the interview with Oswald and started
taking notes. Questions put to Oswald by Fritz were not repeated. The first
question put to Oswald in my opinion was 'where were you when the shots were
fired?' The answer "out with Bill Shelley in front". Fritz was interrupted a
number of times during the interview and left his notes while taking care of
other matters. I believe Bookhout copied Fritz's notes that had been taken
before the FBI joined the interview during one of Fritz's absences. Later I
believe Bookhout guessed at what the copied notes meant when he was preparing
his report.
Fritz's notes physically are written (this portion) like
below: ...
"claims 2nd floor Coke when off. came in"
"to
first floor had lunch"
"out with Bill Shelley in front"
Bookhout's
report excerpt:
"......Oswald stated that he took this Coke down to the
first floor and stood around and had lunch in the employee's lunch room. He
thereafter went outside and stood around for five or ten minutes with foreman
Bill Shelley, and thereafter went home. ....."
Please notice that both
accounts of what Oswald said are basically the same and in the same order. I
believe this is proof Bookhout copied Fritz's notes. Fritz said that his notes
are not in any order. In fact he has an arrow pointing to the note "out with
Bill Shelley in front" with the comment "1st" at the start of the
arrow.
What I think Oswald told Fritz without the FBI being present was
that he went to the first floor and had lunch. Then went outside and was with
Shelley during the shooting. He was outside for a total of about 5 minutes
before going to get a coke. Then HE DECIDED to leave because he didn't think
there would be anymore work that day.
