Oswald tended to clench his fist. When he wasn't clasping his hands, he was clenching his fists.
Now look at the guy in the Three Tramps photo. He's clenching his fist. You're certainly not seeing any fingers extended there. It looks like a clenched fist, just like on Oswald.
