P.S. If you read those letters that Marina sent to Ruth, they suggest that at the time, she had greater confidentiality with Ruth than she had with her husband. She wrote critically of Lee; she complained about him; and she broached the subject of possibly leaving him.
And, as you know, they did eventually separate, but not completely because when he would visit her and his kids at Ruth Paine's house in Irving and stay over there, he continued to share a bed with Marina.
But, the point is that, at the time, Marina seemed to place more TRUST in Ruth than she did in Lee. TRUST. That is the word.
So, under those circumstances, when Ruth Paine was, apparently, Marina's closest friend and confidante, wouldn't Marina have revealed to Ruth what Lee had done in leaving a rifle and ammunition in her garage?
