45 inches,  you say? And this is supposed to be something bad for me? Something ruinous to my conclusions?

The greater the distance between Mary Moorman and BJ Martin the more difficult it would have been for her to capture just his right arm. 

That's because, although the angle of view is a constant, the field of view grows the farther you get away from the lens.



The field of view expands pyramidally from the lens. And it expands in all directions. The farther the distance, the more inclusive the coverage. So, putting more distance between Mary Moorman and BJ Martin only makes it easier for me to prove that she could not have captured only his right arm, and remember, she didn't have a zoom in which to crop the field, nor did she have any reason or inclination to crop it. 

So, you want to place BJ Martin 45 inches away from the curb? OK fine, we'll say he was 45 inches away from the curb.
