When and to whom did Marina first reveal LHO taking a shot at General
Walker?
No mention in first police statement or FBI statement. Anyone know how
detectives first became aware of the connection between LHO and the Walker
shooting?
Ralph Cinque:
It was in her February 1964 Warren Commission testimony that she first said it. Note that what they got Marina to say plus the phony letter written mostly in Russian are the only evidence against Oswald for the Walker shooting. What else do they have? And even the letter is hardly incriminating and laughably unrealistic.
So really, it just comes down to Marina saying it and nothing else.
Doesn't it seem like Marina would have confided in somebody if it had really happened? How could she even feel safe living with him after knowing that he did that?
The following is from Vincent Bugliosi's book Reclaiming History:
"Later that day, Lee telephoned Marina at Ruth Paine's and asked her to come to New Orleans. Marina was ecstatic, crooning over and over to Baby June, 'Papa nas lubet' which means 'Papa loves us.'"
That was in May 1964, so supposedly after the Walker shooting attempt. So, why would Marina be ecstatic about joining Lee in New Orleans if she knew that he had shot to kill someone, and out of complete insanity?
I can pretty well guarantee you that at the time she said that and reacted so boisterous and happy, she knew NOTHING about any attempted shooting of Walker.
