And it's not very hard to find images of her smiling.
And by the way, how could a mother put pictures of her son on the wall in which he's been banged up and pummeled by police? She hangs such pictures on the wall? I question anybody doing that never mind the guy's own mother.
Am I saying the woman shouldn't smile again after what happened? Darn right that's what I'm saying- if she were really his mother.
That's a reasonably happy picture too. So, I guess it's true what they say: you can't grieve forever.
Ah, a gentle smile. She looks happy and content.
I bet she had a good appetite too and didn't miss a meal.
Bob Schieffer told the bizarre story from the day of the assassination that she needed a ride to Dallas from Ft. Worth after Oswald got arrested. So, did she call a taxi? No. She called CBS News and asked them to pick her up. And, because of who she was, Schieffer and another guy did it. And when they got to her location, she was standing on the sidewalk holding a sign that read, "Lee Harvey Oswald's mother." Then, during the short drive, she complained about the impact this was going to have on her- financially. She complained that people around the country were likely going to send money to Marina but not to her. What was she going to get out of it?
Don't believe me? Then watch it yourself:

When you're smiling, when you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you...
The above picture was taken on December 4, 1963, so just 10 days after her son was brutally murdered.
The above picture was also from December 4. There is a word that comes to mind for a situation like this: distraught. Except, we're not seeing distraught here.
The above picture was taken on December 7, so less than two weeks after her son was brutally murdered.
And by the way, in the above interview, she said that if her son, a known defector, had been under surveillance that President Kennedy would still be alive.
Again, that's from December 7, 1963, less than two weeks after her son was brutally murdered.
