The Oswald Innocence Campaign is the only organization in the world that I know of that champions explicitly for Oswald's innocence.
There are other JFK organizations which dispute the official story of the assassination, such as CTKA, COPA, and ROKC. But, none of those acronyms refer to advocating Oswald's innocence. It's possible to dispute the official story of the JFK assassination without advocating Oswald's innocence.
But, it seems to me that any group that does advocate Oswald's innocence would want to make that the centerpiece of their mission and their title.
I understand that Judyth Baker has made an informal group called Project Oswald, but I do not consider her to be an advocate of Oswald's innocence. She advocates that Oswald had complete foreknowledge of the assassination and that he let Kennedy die. She justifies it by claiming that he expected an "abort team" to show up at the last minute, but that is a ridiculous concept for which there isn't one speck of evidence. She further asserts that Oswald lied to authorities, withholding all that he knew about the assassination, which was everything, thus protecting the killers until he, himself, was killed. So, to my mind, Judyth Baker is NOT a defender of Lee Harvey Oswald; she is an accuser of Lee Harvey Oswald.
I believe the OIC has reached critical mass, where we are now the hub of Oswald innocence and JFK truth- on the web and in the world. And we have quite a few unofficial members who participate actively in our discussions but without accepting formal membership in the organization. Why? It's probably because they see what issues from attack dogs like Joseph Backes and bpete, and they don't want to be attacked similarly. So, they participate and engage with us without going public.
But, I think it's clear that, going forward, the OIC will continue to attract and gather the most influential and important minds in the real JFK truth movement. I don't expect any major competition, although I wouldn't mind having some. If others want to form another organization to advocate Oswald's innocence- his complete and total innocence- it's fine with me. But, it has to be built around Oswald's innocence and not just around challenging the official story of the assassination. The latter would be a complete, utter waste of time.
