Do these hairlines match, and would you call it an "awesome" match?
They're close, but I wouldn't call it an awesome match. But, if you look at the comparison of young 1957 Lovelady to Doorman, that is an awesome match.
The mere fact that 6 years had passed makes it non-credible that his hair could be the exact same length, style, cut, etc. If you compared my hair over a mere 6 weeks spread, it wouldn't look that much alike. But, there is also the fact that Lovelady was a rapidly balding young man. I'll say it again: LOVELADY WAS A RAPIDLY BALDING YOUNG MAN. Therefore, there is NO WAY his hair looked the same in 1963 as it did in 1957.
The hairline is the one thing they changed to Loveladyify Doorman. They gave Oswald Lovelady's "cap", meaning the top of his head, including his forehead and hairline. It was similar to what they did in the Backyard photos, except that they moved over even less. Of course, in that case, they were Oswaldifying another man's face. And Oswald said so himself.
But, in this case, I prefer to look at it without the hairlines since they messed with it. And the result is truly awesome:
