I am very pleased to announce that we have found our Laura, our "face in the misty light." And she is Elisabeth Joy.

Elisabeth had a small role in My Stretch of Texas Ground, as the mother of a teenage boy who was hurt in a suspicious car accident. And I noticed then a terrific screen chemistry between her and our star, Jeff Weber.

This time, as Laura, Elisabeth will be playing the ex-wife of the villain, Draven Denisen. And Laura is like the twist in the story who unintentionally propels events. So, this is a very pivotal role in the film.

We also think Elisabeth will have great screen chemistry with George Welder, who plays Draven, and with the actress who will be playing Carrie Haladin, whom I can't yet name. And what's unique about that is that Carrie and Laura never appear together on screen. So, why should we care whether they have good chemistry?

It's because it comes out in the story that Carrie and Laura were best friends back in high school, and we want it to look that way.

I'll give you an example from another film, Sleepless in Seattle, which I like a lot. Meg Ryan's character is obsessed with Tom Hank's character, and she is stalking him in Seattle. She follows him to the beach, where he and his son are playing with friends, and she thinks his friend's wife, played by Tom Hanks' real wife Rita Wilson, is coupled with him because of the way they are clowning around. And she tells her friend played by Rosie O'Donnell about it, and she responds by calling the woman a ho. Then, Meg's character says, "But, the thing is, she didn't seem like a ho. She seemed like one of us, like she'd be friends with us."

So similarly, we wanted good compatibility between Carrie and Laura, where it really looks like they could have been best friends in high school, and we believe it does between Elisabeth Joy and the actress who will be playing Carrie.

So, thank you, Elisabeth, for joining the cast. I know you are going to enthrall us as Laura.
