I can’t tell you how happy I am that Hailley Lauren has joined the cast of His Stretch of Texas Ground to reprise her role as Carrie Haladin, the wife of Sheriff Joe.

I realized after I got the news that if we had had to settle for anyone else, that I would have been deeply disappointed. I’d have made the best of it, and I’d have tried to think positive, but now I realize that I needed Hailley to give this story authenticity.

Of course, I had that feeling about Jeff Weber too, and from the beginning, and I told a lot of people that if we couldn’t get Jeff to reprise Sheriff Joe, that I would cancel the whole thing. I didn’t have the slightest compunction to recast Sheriff Joe. And really, I feel the same way about Hailley Lauren; that she is the only Carrie Haladin for me.

Hailley won Best Supporting Actress at the Mabig Film Festival in Augsburg, Germany for her portrayal of Carrie in My Stretch of Texas Ground. And considering how emotional her role was, it was phenomenal to watch her go into character on set.

And, I hope I am not embarrassing anyone when I point out the Jeff Weber and Hailley Lauren make an absolutely dazzling screen couple, and I couldn’t name a more dazzling one.

So, I am very happy about this, and the plain truth is that I love the Haladins. They are like family to me. And it just wouldn’t seem like them without Hailley Lauren playing Carrie. So, thank you, Hailley.
