It's very simple. The question is: did those two little signs fill up the east side of that doorway?

                                             X

That X is basically where Hughes was in the above picture, although according to the Mary Ferrell Foundation:

Hughes Film

Robert Hughes filmed from the sidewalk on the west side of Houston Street.

But, I think he must have stepped off the sidewalk and out into the street, just as Altgens did. Still, to Hughes eyes and to his camera, was the view that he got standing in the intersection of Main and Houston this?

I have my doubts, and it's something that testing could determine. But regardless, we know that the Hughes doorway is fake.

We know Doorman was NOT standing there on the west side of the doorway above Roy Lewis. You only have to look at Wiegman or Weaver to know that.

So, if they put a bogus Doorman in the Hughes doorway, could they not have also put bogus street signs?

And when they put that bogus Doorman in the Hughes doorway, they had to see the real one before he was conveniently covered up by the girl and the signs- if they were also part of the ruse.

So, knowing they put a phony Doorman and a phony Lovelady into the Hughes film,

I say they may have done more. And, I refuse to grant the legitimacy of the signs until such time that it is tested and proven accurate, in other words: reproduced with the same result.

Now, if my enemies aren't happy about that, remember, there is always the triad consisting of: Hell, Joseph Backes, and proscenium arches. You go there; you find him; and he will show you the routine. Nuff said.
