The Bad Script to Jack Ruby shoots Oswald
Part 2
So, the Dallas Police and FBI desperately needed Oswald dead because the phony evidence they had on him would surely have been exposed in court. So, they announce how concerned they are that someone is going to attack Oswald during the jail transfer.
Well, if they were concerned, then why transfer him in a big spectacle? Remember, it wasn't forced on them. It was their idea. They didn't have to do it. They chose to do it.
Why not transfer him in the dead of night, and then announce afterwards that they did it? And if anybody doesn't like it, fuck 'em.
What sense does it make to express your concern and then inform all potential killers of Oswald that an opportunity awaits? It's like they held a press conference and said, winking, "We're moving Oswald this morning. We'll be coming out the basement. It sure would be a shame if somebody tried to kill him."
The point is that the behavior and actions of the Dallas Police demonstrate that they were facilitating the attack on Oswald, that they wanted it. If they didn't want it, they wouldn't have done what they did. If they didnt want it, they would moved Oswald without notice or fanfare.
All their gaudiness and ceremonialiness just to put Oswald in a car and drive him a few blocks to the County Jail was ridiculous. It was inexplicable and unjustifiable. And it's comical to think about how it went down.
Curry: He's been arraigned, so we're done with him. Get him over to the County Jail.
Fritz: Yeah, about that, I've got some ideas.
Curry: Ideas? What's to idea about? Put him in a car and drive him over there.
Fritz: Yeah, but we want to make an event out of it, dont we? Make it special. Do it with style. Put on a show!
Curry: What the fuck are you talking about? This is a police department! And you're not Cecil B. DeMille.
Fritz: Yeah, but hear me out, Chief. It will take a little planning, but I figure I'll line up my detectives along the wall, you know, like a Hollywood extravaganza. Then we'll come out in procession. The press will be there waiting; cameras will be clicking; flashes will be flashing. It will be a grand, magical moment. Dah...dah tah da, da-da. Dah...dah tah da... dah... dahhhh.
Curry: You know something? You're right. OK, what the hell. It's showtime! The spectacle of Oswald being moved to the County Jail is on!
What was wrong with people that upon seeing this they didn't wonder if the Dallas Police had lost their minds? The idiotic thing was organized like a wedding, with the detectives lined up against the wall like ushers. ALL TO PUT A GUY IN A CAR!
All they had to do to make it safe was do it at 2 AM without telling anyone except Sheriff Decker, and skip all the pomp and majesty.
They did all that showmanship just to put him in a car and drive him a few blocks to another facility? Do you really believe that? No! The spectacle was NOT for that. The spectacle was for killing Oswald. And it was the Dallas Police's spectacle. They planned it. They produced it. And they are the ones who killed Oswald.
But, the idea that they would entrust Jack Ruby to fire the gun is ridiculous. Jack Ruby was a character. There is the expression, "he's a character." It means that somebody is colorful and quirky and grabs attention. Jack Ruby was not a marksman. He was not an assassin. And he was such a flighty, airheaded dingbat, that the idea that they would have trusted him to shoot Oswald in a crowd of themselves is ridiculous.
They didn't need Jack Ruby to kill Oswald; they could do that themselves. They just needed him to take the blame for it.
To this day, they have never told us why the 10:00 jail transfer got delayed until 11:20. We're talking about a very simple thing to do here. If it was scheduled for 10, why didn't it happen at 10? Was it because the last interrogation was so productive, that they were gaining so much information and insight from Oswald, that they had to prolong it? Well, here are Fritz' notes from the final interrogation.
It was scribbled just like that in Fritz' handwriting, but that's all it said. Nothing.
I say there was no final interrogation. What they were really doing was preparing for the spectacle.
Still, why was it an hour and fifteen minutes late? They had a lot to do. They had to take those photos under controlled conditions. The Jackson photo was NOT taken during the televised spectacle. There is no frame in any of the films that you can point to and say, "That corresponds perfectly to Jackson. Can't you see? Oswald has slammed his arm to his chest; Ruby has his gigantic thumb atop his clenched fist. Blackie Harrison is puffing away on his cigar with one hand, while trying to disrupt the attack with the other. Detective Ron Lowery has his hands clasped in front of him like a Jehovah's Witness at the door, even the though the shot has already gone off. Police Inspector Sawyer looks frozen in a hypnotic state. There is nothing in any of the films that matches this weird shit.
But, the biggest variable was Ruby. They were in control of him but not completely. He showed up when he did, about 10:18. They steered him there. They set up the Karen Carlin ruse. They had George Senator there to make sure that Ruby took his "medicine." They had their people gathered at the Main Street ramp- as if they were waiting for some celebrity to arrive. Who could it have been? Nobody. Those people had no reason to be there except to attract Ruby. There is no excuse you can make for them being there.
Spectator 1: What are you doing here?
Spectator 2: I heard that John Abt is going to be pulling in any minute.
Spectator 1: John Abt? That's not what I heard. I heard that Judyth Baker is coming with a dose of her bioweapon for Henry Wade. She won a Science award in high school, you know. She got her name in the paper.
Spectator 2: You don't say.
The stumbling, bumbling Ruby was like puddy in their hands, but he was still somewhat of a free agent. Once he got into the Western Union office, either the clerk or someone else in there must have suggested that he walk down to the ramp and see what's going on. And in the highly drugged and suggestible state that he was in, Ruby did it. He was like a zombie; not a threatening zombie, but a highly submissive zombie. And then at the ramp, someone probably just head-gestured at Ruby to go on down there, and he did it. It was like he was drunk and doing whatever he was told. You can see his dazed eyes and dilated pupils in this photo.
Just compare Ruby's eyes to the cop in uniform or to Boyd Webb on our right. Ruby was stoned!
Dallas Police really botched the production of this movie. They missed the disparity between Ruby's socks and Bookhout's. Also Ruby's shoes and Bookhout's. And they might have gotten away with it if they just left Ruby's feet out of this mug shot. But, they wanted to include that marker that you see on the floor in the picture below. And it cost them.
It was all just theater; badly done theater. Jack Ruby was innocent! And it's sad that people are fighting it when it's so obvious; when it's so crystal clear. Even people who defend Oswald insist that Ruby was guilty, despite overwhelming evidence that he was framed and innocent. But, the truth is: there are a lot of phony Oswald defenders online. They just say they are Oswald defenders because they are trying to influence Oswald defenders. They are trying to prevent Oswald defenders from seeing the truth that Ruby too was innocent.
