There is lots of debate about the location of JFK's back wound, but we do have a picture of it.

On the right, someone is touching the Vertebra Prominens which is the first prominent spinous process, and that is generally C7. In some people, it is T1, but usually it is C7.  So, what level is JFK's wound? Obviously, it's lower. A whole slew of doctors said it was T3. If they are wrong, the most they could be off by is one, which would make it T2. But, there is no way it is any higher than that.

If a bullet went through there at a sharply downward angle, there is no way it could come out right below the Adams Apple. Also, look how central it is, how close it is to the middle of the spine. If you send a bullet through there, the trauma is going to be neurologically devastating. I mean catastrophic. But, all of Kennedy's muscles were working after that shot. We see him upright, and we see him contracting his muscles. The notion that he was traversed by a bullet from back to front is utter nonsense.
