Was the Moorman photo altered? Jack White said it was. Here is a short discussion of it that he started on Education Forum:

We know that her photo was confiscated by the FBI within minutes and eventually returned to her. But, there certainly was the opportunity to alter it. 

And they certainly would have altered it to hide a big blow-out wound in the back of Kennedy's head. And in this case, it would have been easy to alter because it's such a crude image with such basic features. This would have been easy as pie to doctor.

When you consider how dark Kennedy's figure is and how crude the whole image is surrounding him, it would have been very easy to alter. Who knows? Maybe they made him dark like that. 

So, did they alter it? My verdict is: definitely. But did they completely cover up the blow-out wound? My answer is: no.

And the way we can tell is by looking at the shape of the contour of the back of his head. It's irregular. There is a sudden break, which I shall explain.

What I am pointing to with the arrow is a "point" in the back of his head, below which there is a depression. I've tried to find left profile images of Kennedy with which to compare. Are they exactly the same angle? No. But, I can only work with what I can find. So, this is the first one, and again, I am pointing to the point: the abrupt change in the contour. Here's another:

My point is simply that you don't see the point and the depression below it on the intact Kennedy.

Let's just try just one more.

Again, I see the same thing: a point or protuberance, and then a depression underneath it, in sharp contrast to what we see in the comparison photo which is smooth and oval and unbroken.

Note: in the cleaned-up version, they completely took that out and made the shape of his head look like it actually was.

You see what I mean? What a difference! They completely reshaped the back of his head. There's no point any more. There is no protuberance. There is a smooth unbroken line like in his intact photos. 

So, I figure that the "point" was left over from the botched job they did at the time of the assassination, but then, when the digital age arrived, it was no problem to clean it up but good.
