Since Oswald was going to continue on with the killers by getting into a car with them after the assassination, why did he bother to openly defy them? It's not as though he did Kennedy any good by doing so. It's not as though he took any action to save Kennedy. It's not as though his not shooting at Kennedy would spare the man. And Oswald had to know that.

Since, according to Hooke, Oswald was going to get into the Nash Rambler with Mac Wallace and David Sanchez Morales anyway (even after having openly defied them by leaving the 6th floor) why didn't he just pretend to participate in the killing but not really aim at Kennedy? He could have aimed at the empty street far from the limo. How would anyone have known? That would have done Kennedy just as much good as what Hooke claims Oswald did, which wasn't much and not any good at all really, but at least he would have kept his cover.

I want the members to think about what the title of this Facebook page means. It is:

Lee Harvey Oswald is Innocent

Innocent!  That means that he wasn't guilty of shooting Kennedy, nor of aiding, abetting, and supporting those that did.

Richard Hooke thinks that Oswald deserves a medal just for not firing at Kennedy. But afterwards, when Oswald was arrested, why didn't he sing like canary and give up everyone who was involved? Why did he lie to the police? At that point, what would have been his justification for protecting the killers? Fear that his wife and children would be killed?

But, his wife and children were taken into custody immediately. How could they have been killed? How could it have been explained that under FBI detention, Marina and her babies wound up dead?

So, the idea that Oswald had to lie even after the assassination to protect his family is just a stupid rationalization.

Besides, as the whole thing was unfolding, Oswald had plenty of time to deal with his family's safety. He could have taken them to the Soviet Embassy and explained the situation. He could have told them everything he knew. Don't you think the Soviets would have protected Marina and the children?  Marina and his kids could even have gone back to Russia, where they would have been safe.

It's no good to say that Oswald was thinking about his family's safety while he was in the interrogation room when he had months and months to think about their safety and do something about it.

No, the whole idea that Oswald was on the hit team and and deeply involved in the plot is insane. It's insane from his point of view and from theirs. They knew they were framing Oswald as the lone assassin, and they had to know that he might spend time in custody and be questioned by police. Why would they make him so knowledgeable? They didn't need him to kill Kennedy. They had plenty of other people who could do that.
