Good points Dog....I've been inside the house (I toured it last year) and
I wouldn't characterize the house as "tiny". It's not a huge house, but
it's actually pretty roomy inside. No problem for Lee to find an opportune
time to slip into the garage for a bit, close the door and go about his
task.

Ralph Cinque:

Yeah, Peter, I'm sure he could get through the door, but the point is: how could he disappear for x amount of time in Ruth Paine's house when he was a GUEST in the house.

I'll say it again:

How could Oswald disappear in Ruth Paine's home to tend to his rifle without her and Marina wondering, "Where's Lee?"

And remember that Ruth was mostly Marina's friend, not Lee's. He didn't even address her by her first name. Marina did, but Lee called her "Mrs. Paine." And, Mrs. Paine was only 32 years old.

So, how could Oswald disappear in Ruth Paine's house for enough time to disassemble a rifle and secure it in a homemade paper bag without her wondering where he was and looking for him?
