I have been saying for 7 years that the reason Black Hole Man's face is in blackness is because "they" blackened it out, as it defies the laws of physics for such a thing to happen in reality. But, there is a funny aspect to it. And that is: that so much light was reaching his face that he had to visor his eyes from the bright sun. So, why would a guy whose face was in deep, dark, utterly black shadow need to visor his eyes? He wouldn't. He couldn't. He didn't. There was bright light streaming in; a ton of light. His face is black because they had to obscure it because he was Billy Lovelady.
