This is the latest laurel I received for our nomination to the Hollywood Verge Awards. I don't know how many films entered that contest, but I know that MSOTG is among the top 4.
I know I am biased, but I absolutely love the film. I love it because it deals with a very serious issue, the horrific death toll of war, but it's wrapped up in a story of a looming collision between two very capable men, whose inevitable clash is altogether gripping. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to find out what happens between Haladin and Hassan. Hey, it's the greatest thing since Hagler vs. Hearns.
I love it because there are 55 actors in this film who delivered such a wide range of accents, personalities, and stations, and that is a lot of actors for a low-budget film. And I love it because it is so different, so politically incorrect, and, as one reviewer put it, it tells a very human story.
So, I am grateful to everyone who was involved They all came through. The movie has so much passion and purpose, and such intriguing characters, especially in Haladin and Hassan, that it delivers a very compelling message within a very immersing story.
