James Jarmon's testimony is one of the most important in the entire Warren Report.
Mr. BALL - Did Oswald have any friends there?
Mr. JARMAN - Well, not that I know of.
Mr. BALL - Did he have any close friend that he would eat lunch with every day?
Mr. JARMAN - No. sir; not that I know of.
Oswald had no friends. No friends, no friends, no friends. So, you know he didn't arrange any pickup.
Mr. BALL - Did you talk to Oswald again that morning?
Mr. JARMAN - Yes, sir. I talked to him again later on that morning.
Mr. BALL - About what time?
Mr. JARMAN - It was between 9:30 and 10 o'clock, I believe.
Mr. BALL - Where were you when you talked to him?
Mr. JARMAN - In between two rows of bins.
Mr. BALL - On what floor?
Mr. JARMAN - On the first floor.
Mr. BALL - And what was said by him and by you?
Mr. JARMAN - Well, he was standing up in the window and I went to the window also, and he asked me what were the people gathering around on the corner for, and I told him that the President was supposed to pass that morning, and he asked me did I know which way he was coming, and I told him, yes; he probably come down Main and turn on Houston and then back again on Elm. Then he said, "Oh, I see," and that was all.
Mr. BALL - Did you talk to him again?
Mr. JARMAN - No, sir.
So, Oswald did not know why the crowd was gathering on the sidewalk. He did not know that Kennedy would be passing by the building that day. He didn't find out until James Jarman told him at 9:30 to 10:00.
So, how could he be in league with the conspirators and know what they were doing? How could he privy to the whole operation? How could he have tipped off the FBI about something he didn't know anything about? How could he know about the Dealey Plaza plot without knowing JFK would ride through Dealey Plaza?
As I said, this is very powerful testimony, and it is one that every Oswald defender should know by heart.
