J Stephen Courts Interestingly, Ralph, today marks the 60th anniversary of Eisenhower's farewell speech to the American people. Not that he used even a modicum of his power that allowed unchecked (and illegal) CIA plundering. we had one chance to nip this dastardly MIC. One chance. One man's vision. Following the murder of JFK, the MIC grew on steroids. There is zero chance that we ever live-up to the prosperity and ideals that JFK envisioned. Neo-colonialism is worse than at any time in our history. Make up a lie so outrageous and repeat it continuously and you have Vietnam, Iraq & Afganistan, and 9/11; and the indiscriminate murder of a leader of a country we are not at war with. Thank you for this post. Yet another excellent essay that needs to be read by everyone.
  • Ralph Cinque That was very well put, Stephen, and I appreciate it. General Suleimani went to Iraq by invitation of the Iraqi Prime Minister to discuss peace. There is absolutely no reason to believe he went there to conduct attacks. And what the United States did, by order of Trump, was a savage act of murdering 10 people. Indeed it was pure savagery.

The first shot of world war three was fired yesterday as the United States decided to assassinate the top General of Iran. This was considered the number-two guy in the whole country. This is literally a nightmare situation. I imagine if Iran assassinated our number one general in the morning, we would be at war that evening. This Iranian general headed covert operations and was an icon to the Iranian people. Please note that he was traveling as a diplomat at the invitation of the Iraqi Government. His movements were official and not secret. This assassination is an abomination. "Only people with criminal minds commit these kinds of acts.
