The CEO of Maple Leaf Foods spoke out Sunday against the U.S. government, days after an Iranian missile accidentally shot down a jetliner, killing all 176 people on board — including the family of a company employee.
Michael McCain said in a series of tweets that the time since Wednesday's crash has not quelled his anger over what he describes as a "needless, irresponsible series of events in Iran."
"U.S government leaders unconstrained by checks/balances, concocted an ill-conceived plan to divert focus from political woes. The world knows Iran is a dangerous state, but the world found a path to contain it; not perfect but by most accounts it was the right direction," he wrote, saying he feels that "a narcissist in Washington" destabilized the region.

The tweets were sent from the packaged meat company's official account, though McCain characterized them as "personal reflections."

RC: This can't be good for his business. Even though there are some people, like me, who applaud his courage and honesty, there are still plenty of Trump supporters who are high-fiving each other the Suleimani kill. Are they now going to call for a boycott of Maple Leaf food products?

So, why did he McCain do it? He did it because an employee of his lost his wife and family on the Ukrainian plane. Some things matter more than money or business.

Of course, he knows that the Iranians shot down the plane. So, why isn't he blaming them? It's because he knows they did it as a mistake of war. And in every war, there are mistakes. The United States has committed grievous mistakes in war.

In My Stretch of Texas Ground, Sheriff Joe Haladin points out the the U.S. bombed a restaurant in Baghdad trying to kill Saddam Hussein, but killed children instead. We killed whole families, including many children, but we didn't kill Saddam Hussein. And in our case, we knew that we were going to kill families. The only mistake was that Saddam wasn't there. The families were going to die in any case.

And Sheriff Joe also points out that in Afghanistan, we bombed a wedding party trying to kill the Taliban, and that wasn't a mistake at all. We knew exactly what we were doing: killing men, women, children, and old people. But, the fact is, although we don't point it out in the movie, WE HAVE DONE IT 9 TIMES! Nine wedding parties bombed by the United States of America. Does that put you in the mood to celebrate the 4th of July? Sadly, for some Americans, it does.

The point is that war leads to mistakes, miscalculations, and wrong assumptions which are fatal, and it also makes monsters out of men- each and every time a war is fought. And that's why no one should ever, ever ever start a war. But, the question is: who started the war this time? Whoever started it is responsible for all the death and destruction that followed. And in this case, Trump started the war from out of nowhere. From out of the blue, he took a relatively stable, quiet, and normal situation, and he committed savage murders.

Gerald Ford's Executive Order 11905 banned assassination. Trump murdered the top general of another country claiming that this general was going to attack the United States imminently. Imminent, imminent, imminent, imminent imminent, they kept saying. But when pressed by Laura Ingrahm  on national television, Trump said that Suleimani "probably " was going to attack our embassy in Iraq. Problably? PROBABLY? Probably means that you don't know. For Trump to glibly say "I think it was probably going to be..."completely negates the whole claim and concept of imminence. Imminence goes way beyond "probably."

And as soon as he said it, Laura should have said, "Probably, Mr. President? You are fucking kidding me, right? Don't tell me you did this over a probably."

So, why did he say such a stupid thing? And why didn't she say what she should have said? He went on to say that it was probably 4 embassies, without naming the embassies. And then his own Defense Secretary Ester said that he saw no hard evidence of any such attacks.

Look, Trump, Pompeo, and Ester need to be indicted for murder and treason.  It was a monstrous act of savage murder that they did, and I don't care, if they say the word "imminent" a gazillion times, it doesn't mitigate it. They need to go to prison, and for the rest of their lives.
