This just in from John Armstrong. It concerns the reliability of Palmer McBride's testimony about knowing Harvey in New Orleans in 1957 when Lee was in Japan:

Ralph,

I knew Palmer McBride for many years, visited him at his homes in Sun Valley, CA, and Winettka, CA. I brought him to a JFK Lancer conference in Dallas where he spoke to the audience and took questions over two days.

Palmer worked for NASA a large part of his working life and was passionate about his work. He had encyclopedic knowledge of the US rocket program. He could tell you, by instant recall, the date of each flight, the name of the rocket, the names of all crew members, etc. Palmer had a very, very good memory and date-related nearly everything in his past to the US space program. If you asked Palmer what he was doing in January, 1961 he would recall the space program/rocket launch closest to that date and then remember his activities. He had an incredible memory for details.

Palmer was a very pleasant, happy, easy going man who enjoyed life and loved his wife and family. I never saw him joke, criticize, or say negative things about anyone. He was one of those very extraordinary people who just didn't not know how to tell a lie.

Palmer's best friend was Harry Vance, who lived in Mexico. Palmer called Harry on one occasion (in my presence) and they discussed Harry's memory of Oswald. Harry took Palmer's place at work (Pfisterer Dental Lab) for two days in early 1958. Harry remembered Oswald (Harvey) working at the dental lab and attending a couple of meetings at the New Orleans Amateur Astronomy Association. Palmer's second best friend was William Wulf (very large man-6 ft 3"; 280 lbs), whom I met personally in Slidell, LA. Wulf is also a very intelligent man and is a specialist in computer systems. I spend several hours with Wulf and he told me, clearly, that he met Oswald (Harvey) "just after Christmas, 1957--early 1958". Wulf was 100% certain about the date because this was the first year that he returned to school after missing an entire year of school due to illness. His most vivid memory of Oswald was when his father threw him out of the house, after midnight, for talking about the virtues of communism. Following the assassination, Wulf was interviewed by the Warren Commission. He and Palmer always wondered by Palmer was never interviewed by the WC, since Palmer had known (Harvey) Oswald, met his mother, visited his apartment, gone on double dates together, went to the Opera, worked together at the dental lab for months, attended meetings of the NOAAA (astronomy association), and spent countless hours at McBride's house listening to records. Additionally, McBride was never interviewed by the HSCA or the ARRB, and for a very good reason.

If McBride's story about knowing Oswald in 1957-58 became widely known, the public would want to know how Oswald could be in Japan and in New Orleans at the same time. McBride's claim of knowing Oswald (1957-58) would be supported, criticized, and require further investigation. Employment records from the Pfisterer Dental Lab (1957-58) would be requested, and it would soon be known that the FBI collected these records two days after the assassination. These records were never given to the WC and disappeared.

A request to the Social Security Administration could be made for Oswald's records, to show if payments were made on behalf of Oswald by the Pfisterer Dental Lab in 1957-58. On May 15, 1978 the HSCA requested this information, by letter, and received a reply from the SSA on July 28, 1978. The SSA provided documents related to Oswald's employment in 1962-63, but provided no documents whatsoever for Oswald's employment from 1955 thru 1958. The SSA provided the HSCA with "copies of three pages of the Warren Commission Report re-employment of Lee Harvey Oswald prior to service in the Marine Corps." In other words, the Social Security Administration in 1978 refused to provide the House Select Committee on Assassinations with any documentation related to Oswald's employment from 1955-58. The SSA tried to "cover up" and ignore the HSCA request by providing 3 pages from the Warren Report.

________________________________

Lee Oswald was in Japan and the South China Sea from Sept, 1957 thru November, 1958.

Oswald (Harvey) did work with McBride at the Pfisterer Dental Lab in 1957-58.

Oswald (Harvey) did attend several meetings of the NOAAA in 1957-58.

Oswald's employment records were confiscated by the FBI on Monday, November 25, 1963 and disappeared.

Oswald's SSA records from 1955 thru 1958 have never been made public and were probably destroyed in the days following the assassination. Which government agency, office, or individual could order these records destroyed?

Neither the Warren Commission, HSCA, nor ARRB interviewed Palmer McBride.

In an honest investigation, the presence of Harvey and Lee would have been uncovered very easily.

You may post my response on McAdam's web site, if you like.
