Oswald in the doorway: the blog of the Oswald Innocence Campaign, by Ralph Cinque

That Backes is some piece of work. For over two years, he has split a proscenium-packed gut at the very idea that Oswald could be Doorman in the Altgens photo. But now, he suddenly shows interest in the idea that he might have been Prayer Man.

But, Prayer Man looks much stockier than Oswald, who looks scrawny. And Prayer Man has no openness to his shirt at all, and no exposure of his white t-shirt at all, if he's even wearing one, while Oswald's shirt had only 2 buttons at the bottom, which means that he couldn't button it on top even if he wanted to. Plus, Prayer Man was still out there when Marrion Baker reached the steps at a fast clip, and the law of inertia tells you that Prayer Man could not have beaten Baker to the lunch room.

So, how could Prayer Man be Oswald? He couldn't. Backes just isn't thinking straight, but tell me something I don't already know.

But still, considering Backes' rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth response to the very idea that Oswald could be Doorman, it does seem incredible that he would be warm to the idea of Oswald being anyone in the doorway.

But, you know something, Backes? You can't take it back.

So, Backes thinks it's "honest research" to consider that Oswald was a figure in the doorway. And by stating that, he acknowledges that there is no problem time-wise with Oswald getting to the doorway. Check. It also acknowledges that Oswald being in the doorway during the shooting does not conflict in any way with anything Oswald said. Check. It also acknowledges that Oswald being in the doorway does not conflict in any way with anything that anybody else said or didn't say. Check. It also acknowledges that Oswald's interaction with the reporter does not in any way rule out that he was in the doorway. Check. It also acknowledges that what Will Fritz told the Warren Commission - that Oswald told him that he was "eating lunch with other employees" at the time of the assassination - was bull shit. Because why would Oswald lie and tell Fritz that he was eating lunch with other employees if he was, in fact, standing in the doorway, right? So, if anyone lied, Fritz lied, not Oswald. And, it acknowledges that there is no compelling reason why Oswald had to be inside the building at the time of the shooting; there is no compelling other place that he had to be. And note that Backes has never in all this time cited any compelling other place that Oswald had to be.

So, it turns out that Backes isn't opposed to Oswald in the doorway. He's only opposed to Oswald as Doorman. He doesn't mind a bit if you want to say that he was a few feet away from Doorman in the same small doorway. It looks like there is no chance that Backes is going to set up a "Sean Murphy is a Stupid Bitch" website.

Well, know this, you proscenium-stuffing buffoon: you just gave away half the farm, and your objections to Oswald being Doorman are going to ring hollow to just about everybody from now on. And it raises a serious question as to what has been your motive for going on such a diabolical rage and rampage about it for two years running. And it only proves what I have been saying for the whole time, that Joseph Backes is whacked.
