Here's a great old jazz standard from 1948, MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE by Guy Wood. The original lyrics were written by Jack Lawrence, but those were replaced in 1952 with new lyrics by Robert Mellin, which became the norm for the song. The vocalist who perfected this song was Johnny Hartman, and when he teamed up with jazz saxophonist John Coltrane to record it in 1956, they produced the most favored rendition of the song. I think it's one of the sweetest love songs ever written, and if every husband sang it to his wife, there would be a lot fewer divorces. So, to get those husbands started, here is my rendition of the beautiful MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE.
