I am very pleased to announce that My Stretch of Texas Ground has been selected to be screened at the TIC Film Festival in Grays, England in mid-September. When you read their description of their festival, you can understand why they picked my film.
"TIC Film Festival is the newest, most thought provoking film festival in Britain. A team of curators and specialists have programmed four exciting days of inspirational activities – films, public discussions and meetings with filmmakers."
"TIC Film Festival is that window which features worlds less visible. Banned and non-mainstream films trigger discussions of creative dialogue. They provide the opportunity to debate human rights and freedom of speech. They make visible the international diversity of our global world often kept hidden away from view."
"TIC Film Festival promises the radical, the unfamiliar, the unexpected."
That describes My Stretch of Texas Ground to a tee.
I know there are better movies technically and artistically, but when it comes to making a strong, passionate statement, I don't think any movie does so more than ours. And I'm very grateful to the actors who delivered the statement lamenting the loss of human lives, particularly Junes Zahdi, but with help from Jeff Weber, Nichelle Hines, Mike Gassaway, Hailley Lauren, and more. It is so meaningful to me that we made this movie, and I am extremely grateful every time it gets some recognition.
