So, the talks with the Taliban have resumed. Trump said that it is "ridiculous" that troops have been in that country for nearly 18 years. Yes, but they haven't just been there; they've been bombing and killing for 18 years. But he went on to  say that "we have to have a presence." What part of get the hell out does he not understand? The Taliban is NEVER going to tolerate any US military presence in Afghanistan. We'll be lucky if they let us have an Embassy there.

Then, towards the bottom of the article, it glibly says,  Two U.S. service members were killed on Wednesday.

What the hell did they die for? Look, Trump: would you just leave our guys at their bases? What's the point of any more of them dying?  And if you really think you are on the verge of a settlement, then keep them out of harm's way, would you? Look: ALL you care about right now is saving face, not having it look like a sweeping defeat. All right, so try to create whatever illusion you want, but don't get any more of our people killed over it.

Look: it's going to be whatever it's going to be after we're gone. Nothing can be gained from getting any more of our people killed. It's not going to make a lick o' difference to the outcome.

And, you need to have Barr file criminal charges against George W. Bush for starting the war. Haul him in before he enjoys another day of freedom.
