Ron Schuster, who is one of our members, urged me to watch a video about the Deep State by a Tufts University Law Professor. I did, and it was quite interesting. Michael Glennon is a professor of international law, and he claims that there is no Deep State as a concrete entity, as a
structured organization. But, he admits that it's strange the continuity between Presidents of supposedly opposite leanings. He gave the example of going from Gerald Ford to Jimmy Carter, there was continuity of policy, and the same when we went from Bush to Obama.
I would go farther and say that no matter who we elect we get the same thing: more war, more debt, bigger government, and expansion of the empire.
A critic recently trashed my movie, My Stretch of Texas Ground, by saying that it pushes "a liberal agenda." It does NOT push a liberal agenda. It pushes an anti-war agenda, and liberals have as much track record making war as conservatives. It is a falsehood that conservatives want war while liberals want peace. We had plenty of war-making under Clinton, a liberal. Think Bosnia, Kosovo, and 8 years of bombing Iraq. He blew up a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan. There was a joke that every time Clinton drops his pants, a billion Muslims run for cover.
And then Obama, even though he was critical of Bush's war-making during the election, and he promised to shut down Guantanamo, once elected, he did surges in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he never shut down Guantanamo. Continuity. Continuity. Continuity. And this guy sheds light on it.
