There is a relatively new film compilation that starts at Love Field and ends at Parkland Hospital. Here's the link to it:

It includes a clip from the Towner film- including the part showing the Mother and Baby, and below is how they look. This is all you get of them.

And it's always like that. And it's because they weren't there. They were fabricated. Why would they be fabricated? It was an attempt to authenticate the Woman and Boy from the Altgens photo- although how a 3 year old boy could be conflated with a 1 year old baby I do not know.

You can't blame this on film wash-out. Notice how the Fedora Man looks fine. He looks solid. He looks intact. That's because he was real, and they were not.
