This is the picture Mary took of her old high school chum Officer Glenn McBride who was one of the advance motorcycle cops. She said she was standing in the same spot in which she shot the President. Notice what she did here: she took his picture in advance, as he was approaching her, from her right, and it was so that she could capture his face. She certainly did not wait until he passed her only to take a picture of the back of his head.  This image above is what you call: normal. The behavior was normal. It is exactly what you would expect.
