Both Joseph Backes and bpete have maintained that Mary Bledsoe's testimony was a hoax. Here is bpete's statement to that effect:
I think it's a matter of being a mature person. Anyone can just say that Mary Bledsoe's testimony was a hoax. That's easy. But, what were the nuts and bolts of this hoax? How and why did they get her, this little old lady, involved in this hoax? Tell me how it went down.
If Mary Bledsoe was a phony witness, if she was never on the bus with LHO, if everything she said was a lie, tell me how it happened. And why did she cooperate with them? Did they threaten her? Did they threaten her son? What exactly did they threaten her with? Bodily harm? Death? Tax trouble?
And how was she selected to be the conveyor of this tall tale? Why was she picked to do it? She was obviously an older woman who was not that sharp, not that quick-thinking. So, why not get somebody younger and sharper? Why did they go with her? And how did they get to her? How was she picked? How was she even found?
These are things you have to answer. You can't just proclaim a theory- your conclusion- and then drop it. You have to take it back to the beginning, back to its inception. Provide the nuts and bolts of it.
So, how did Mary Bledsoe get recruited to participate in the cover story that Oswald rode the bus? Who recruited her? Who decided that she would be good for this job? And how was she discovered? What was the connection? How was she brought into it?
Do you believe that she really was Oswald's former landlady, or was that made up too?
And why didn't Mary resist? Why didn't she say no? Do you think most little old ladies will go along with government cover-ups if asked? Would you? If not, then what makes you think she would?
You need to explain how this went down. If you don't know how it went down, then explain how you think it might have gone down. But, provide some plausible detailed explanation, from start to finish.
