Bad news, Backes: for you.
You see that? Unger says the spot east of the doorway is the wrong location. Unger says that in front of the Obelisk is where the guy really was. But, he thinks he was close to the curb. I pointed out to Unger that there was a crowd in front of him, and they were close to the curb.
So, he couldn't have been too close to the curb. And if you're going to argue about the distance that remains, you're just quibbling. Besides, I never said he had his back against the monument. I said he was in front of it. That's consistent with him being a few feet in front of it. I have no problem with that. But you said:
You said he's no more in front of it than blah, blah, blah. That's pretty categorical, Backes. It's definitive. It means that you don't put him there at all. It doesn't mean that he was in front of it but with a gap of a few feet. How big could the gap have been when we are talking about a sidewalk.
So, he didn't have his back against the monument, and I never said he did. And he wasn't along the curb either because there were people in front of him who were along the curb. So, he was somewhere in the middle between the two. That's all I ever said or implied. You want me to put an X? OK, I'll put an X.
He didn't have his back against the monument, and he wasn't standing at the curb. He was between the two but in front of the monument. Happy? Let's not quibble about inches, OK? But, you are full of shit to say that he was no more in front of the monument than blah, blah, blah. That is exactly where he is.
