Neil Harrison dared me to put these pictures of mine up- as if I had some reason not to. Whatever "optical illusion" there is in the top picture is very small and easily ascertained. Even though you can't see any table between the tomatoes and the flashlight, you can see the curve of the table on the left, so you know there is space involved. Careful and thoughtful examination of the whole image dispells any false impression.
And in the case of Towner, we know exactly what the space entailed.
So, that Fedora Man was on Elm Street in front of the Obelisk and standing behind a woman who was at the curb. And that's it.
