Look at this crop from the Altgens photo. I want you to notice that most of the spectators are looking at Kennedy, even if he has already passed them.

And, I think we should expect that people would be looking at Kennedy. Jack and Jackie were the stars of the show, right? Who cares about the rest? Why even assume the spectators had anyone else on their minds? Now, let's hone in on Fedora Man and the Woman and Boy and see where they are looking:

The boy is looking down at something that is directly in front of him. If it were far away, he would have to lift his eyes. And I think we can safely assume that his mother was looking at the same thing he was looking at. Is this a problem? No. Because they weren't even at the scene. They were somewhere else, doing something else, and they can hardly be expected to be looking at the President or even the motorcade. They were implanted into the photograph.

But what about the guy behind them, Fedora Man? Where is he looking?

He is not looking at Kennedy. If he were turned and looking at Kennedy, he would be facing Altgens, which is to say, facing us. So, his face would be facing us. That means that the front of his hat would be facing us, and the back of his hat would be behind and out of sight to us. The front of his hat is the high side of his hat. The back of his hat is the low side of his hat.

According to bpete, Robin Unger, and others, this is the same guy in Towner.

I trust you have no trouble seeing that the front of his hat, above his face, is the high side, and the bottom of his hat, at the nape of his neck, is the low side. The hat is high in front and low in back.

So, if the high side corresponds to the front, it means that he is standing there largely with his back to us. He is turned and facing the other way. Who is he looking at?

He is looking at Lee Harvey Oswald standing in the doorway. And, that was Jack Ruby doing it. Who else could it have been?
