I can prove to you that James Bookhout was short. This is a passage from James Hosty's book, ASSIGNMENT: OSWALD. You should read it. He wrote that Bookhout had to stand on some kind of pedestal to find him in the hallway of the PD, which was crowded with reporters. Would a 6 foot man need to do that? Of course not. Bookhout was short.

And in his WC testimony, Bookhout said that he was outside the Mercantile Bank on Main Street during the motorcade, but he never got to see the President because there were people in front of him.

"Upon leaving the bank, it was momentarily expected that the President's motorcade would pass that area. I stood there for a few minutes, and as the motorcade passed I was actually unable to personally observe the President, due to the crowd on the sidewalk."
Would a tall man have that problem?
And frankly, I think he was lying. I think he was in Dealey Plaza during the shooting. I think Bookhout was the Fedora Man in the Altgens photo, looking at Oswald in the doorway. And they put the Woman and Boy in front of him to obscure him. He's dressed just like you would expect an FBI agent to be dressed. And he's short.
But, Bookhout knew that he could sell his lie to the WC because they could see that he was short. He didn't even have to explain it. He, himself, was Exhibit A.
So, read this by James Hosty about his friend James Bookhout, who had to stand on a pedestal in order to find him in the hall. I bet when he wrote it, it never dawned on him that it would come back to haunt him in the 21st century.
