Why wasn't this cop in the police jacket and white shirt and tie ever identified? He was there and guarding the door, so why don't we know who he is? We heard of and from Eugene Barnett, so why not him? Why wasn't he questioned by the Warren Commission?
Note that the cop next to him is holding a shotgun, not the Mannlicher-Carcano. I presume it's his, but why does he have it out? Was he concerned at that point of a further attack? James Maze has suggested that the cop on the left wearing a white shirt and suit may have been a Captain or Lieutenant- hence the suit. And that makes sense because it usually takes time to climb the ranks, right? And he does look much older than the other guy, doesn't he? To my eyes, he looks almost old enough to be the other guy's father. It reads to me as: old guy/young guy.
And that's all the more reason why we should know this man's name. Why don't we? Is it because he spoke with Oswald as he was leaving? And as I have explained, you can tell from their positions that Oswald approached him. Oswald went up to him. Oswald started the conversation. Since when do murderers initiate conversations with cops as they leave the scene of a crime? If that's Oswald talking to a cop minutes after the assassination, it is a vivid demonstration of his innocent conscience.
