Look at this image again and read the caption:
So, that trio consists of Texas Ranger Bob Crowder, who is actually a legendary figure in the state of Texas. And then two FBI agents, Manning Clements and (cough, cough) James Bookhout. Well, I recognize the guy in the middle as Clements. He was involved in the JFK investigation.
That's definitely the middle guy. But look again because the story is about the exhibit, and the exhibit is the spotlight of the photo. They want your eyes to start there.
So, would it not make sense for them to acknowledge the men from left to right? You start with the exhibit, and then you start looking at the men?
So, if that's true, and I believe it is, then the tall lanky guy closest to the exhibit should be the legendary Bob Crowder.
So, there's that nose: Crowder's nose. It certainly wasn't Bookhout's nose. Look how well the ears match. That's who that is: Texas Ranger Bob Crowder. And then I found this about Bob Crowder:
In In the Line of Duty by Lewis C. Rigler, the author describes Bob Crowder as looking like a Ranger:
