I did a search for a coat rack with a clock on Google images, and I only saw one:
If you want to check yourself, go ahead:

Obviously, it is not a very common thing. But is it something that you would find in a police station?
I also checked on Yahoo Images and found what seems to be the same one.
That's all I'm finding. But that one in the police station is just plain weird. Why would they make the clock so big? It was a very small cramped room. What do they need that big thing in there for? Wouldn't a normal size wall clock suffice?
So here again we have the Man and Boy situation between Oswald and the big cop, with that goofy clock next to them reminding us that it's 2:00, while before they looked like this:
I'm not buying this crap,.
He's suddenly looming over Oswald like the Jolly Green Giant, and then there's this goofy clock on a pole that you would never expect to see in a police station. "Here, hang you coat. Sit a while. Set a spell. Y'all come back now, hear?" Isn't that thing way too folksy for a police station? I visited my father at police stations in New York, Los Angeles, and the city of San Fernando, and I never saw anything like that. Police stations aren't folksy.
