Here is another fake photograph from the 19th century, courtesy of Professor James Norwood. It's of the famous abolitionist and former slave, Sojourner Truth, with Abraham Lincoln put next to her. 

I doubt very many people today know of Sojourner Truth, but I know of her because I was a Civil War buff long before I became a JFK buff. 

That's a pretty darn good fake, isn't it?  Of course, they never resorted to any photographic fakeries with the JFK assassination. No need.
