The thing about Lovelady's shirt from the Couch film is that you know there is a lot of information missing from it. There is intelligence missing from the data. And before anybody tries to make a joke that "there's intelligence missing alright" forget about it because I just made it.

Shirts basically come in two forms: as solid prints and as patterns. This wasn't a solid, therefore, it had to be a pattern. But, patterns don't start with just being mottled, as that one looks. There aren't any shirt manufacturers who make shirts with patterns that just look dirty and soiled, like that one looks. They wouldn't sell too many shirts that way. So, there was more to that shirt pattern than we are able to see there with our naked eyes. We do have to fill in the blanks- with our minds.

In the image below, we see that on the sleeve, the short sleeve, Lovelady had stripes which ran the length of the sleeve.

OK, now let's look for that in the Couch image.

So, we are looking for stripes that run in the axial plane of the sleeve. I believe we can see them.

Lovelady's stripes were described as red and white, but my impression is that shirt was well-worn, and they were really more like pink and white. I've seen colored versions but they were colorized. The photos taken by the FBI on Feb 29, 1964 were black and white. So, why do I think the red stripes were more like pink? It's because of how faint they look in the black and white photos. Red- serious red- would register as a darker color in a black and white photo. But, nevertheless, above I have used the initials R for red, and W for white, and R for red. And if you look down from each letter, I believe you can make out the corresponding stripe.

Now, if that's not Lovelady wearing the shirt he claimed to have worn, then it's an amazing coincidence that a guy who looks just like him and is dressed in a shirt that corresponds to his just happened to be there in the very spot where he said he was at the time that the picture was taken.
