You know how in sports, such as tennis, they say you have to keep your eye on the ball. And so it is in life. And in this case, it means that when we're looking at the images, we have to keep our eyes on the images, and forget about the noise.

For instance, when we're comparing Oswald to Doorman, we need to do it in vaccum. We don't do it while thinking about what somebody said. We don't do it while thinking about the alleged timeline of the Altgens photo. You just look and compare the images.

And the images tell you that it's Oswald wearing Oswald's clothes.

And, we should go about it the exact same way when we look at the images of the Couch figure and Billy Lovelady.

Now, bpete wants to parse Lovelady's words about seeing Truly and Baker. I'm glad, in a way, because previously bpete tried to claim that Shelley stuck around the front until Oswald left to go home. But, that definitely didn't happen.

But, when it comes to parsing Lovelady's words about the immediate aftermath, the truth is: you can't.

Mr. BALL - You heard the shots. And how long after that was it before Gloria Calvary came up?
Mr. LOVELADY - Oh, approximately 3 minutes, I would say.
Mr. BALL - Three minutes is a long time.
Mr. LOVELADY - Yes, it's---I say approximately; I can't say because I don't have a watch.

Mr. BALL - Right after you talked to Gloria, did you leave the steps and go toward the tracks?
Mr. LOVELADY - Yes.
Mr. BALL - Did you run or walk?
Mr. LOVELADY - Medium trotting or fast walk.
Mr. BALL - A fast walk?
Mr. LOVELADY - Yes.
Mr. BALL - How did you happen to turn around and see Truly and the policeman go into the building?
Mr. LOVELADY - Somebody hollered and I looked.
Mr. BALL - You turned around and looked?
Mr. LOVELADY - Yes.

Three minutes???? THREE MINUTES???????

There is no way that it was three minutes. There is no way that it was two minutes. There is no way that it was one minute. It wasn't even 30 seconds.

I was just reading something tonight by one of my favorite JFK researchers: Gil Jesus, a great guy, an ex-cop. Gil maintains that Baker reached the steps much faster than the Warren Commission was willing to admit. The WC had a vested interest in delaying it precisely to give Oswald more time to get to the lunch room from the 6th floor ahead of Baker and without being the least bit out of breath- as if that happened. But, Gil did his own analysis based Baker's account and where the motorcycle was parked, and Gil figures that Baker reached those steps in no more than 15 seconds after the last shot.

Now, Lovelady must have had his exchange with Gloria Calvary after the last shot, right? Because she described Kennedy as being shot, and it must have been the fatal head shot she was talking about, right? What else? And that exchange was before Marrion Baker reached the steps, right? And since Lovelady was 15 to 25 steps away by the time Baker reached the steps, and we know Baker got there within 15 seconds, it means that Lovelady must have had his encounter with Gloria Calvary less than 15 seconds after the last shot. Right?

But, if you want to know the truth, it doesn't really make sense because if Gloria Calvary was close enough to the action to see what happened- to see more than they could see from the doorway- then she had to be closer to the action; she had to be a ways down Elm. But then, she had to get back up the hill to the doorway to talk to Lovelady, and it's a pretty steep hill. And I'm not going to assume that she was in the kind of physical condition that Ralph Cinque is in.

So, from the time of the fatal head shot, we need to allow enough time for Gloria Calvary to get from wherever she was when she saw the action, and then back up to the doorway, and then so many seconds for her to have her conversation with Lovelady and the others, and then so many seconds for Shelley and Lovelady to walk their 15 to 25 steps. And all of that had to be done in the same amount of time that Baker heard the shot, screeched to a halt, ditched the bike, and ran to the building, which has been expertly estimated at 15 seconds. So, it doesn't leave enough time. Period.

And as for the 3 minutes, forget about it. bpete can shove that the same place that Joseph Backes shoves his proscenium arches because it doesn't compute.

So, what do we make of this? Well, I don't assume that Lovelady was lying- not at that point. But, this was April 1964, so 5 months after the assassination, and here's a thought; maybe he was confused. In any case, you can't count on those particulars, and that's just the way it is. But, I don't doubt that he made the "trek to the tracks" with Shelley. Why would Lovelady lie about that?

Then, that dirty bpete, bloodsoaked as he is, had the nerve to put this up:

What a wicked, evil bastard to think that he had the right to equate these two:

Who would dare do a thing like that, make such a conclusion? And just state it categorically, as a fact, as if it's indisputable? And this from a guy who has talked filthy trash to me about using "blurry images"? Who would do that? The bloodied would do it. Only the bloodied, and bpete is bloodied.

So, what we're left with is realizing that Lovelady's words cannot be parsed. The exact placements and timings can't be taken as Gospel. But, I say that there is no reason to doubt that the "trek to the tracks" was made.

And when it comes to the figures in the Couch film, one thing is for sure: WE CAN'T DECIDE WHO THEY ARE OR AREN'T BASED ON WORD PARSINGS. It's like Hank Sienfake wanting to dismiss this startling likeness all because of Oswald's exchange with the reporter.

And that is just plain crazy. That's the same guy on both sides, and it doesn't matter what ANYBODY said- and that includes Oswald.
