That object is attached to the wall. You can see the wall underneath it. It is not resting on any bookcase. Idiot. 

And below, it is casting a shadow, but it isn't resting on the door. There is still a space between the object and the door. 

By the way, do they really make bookcases that tall? It would be mighty hard to reach a book on the top shelf- if there were shelves.
